72 hours before the D-Day landings in Normandy, the fate of the world depends on weather. War is not just about battles, but strategy and decisions whose consequences affect millions. James Stagg (Andrew Scott), a meteorologist working for the British Army, must make the most important decision of his career – his weather forecast could determine the success or failure of the greatest military operation in history. Trapped in an atmosphere of distrust and pressure from top commanders, Stagg wages a psychological battle against time, supported only by Captain Kay Summersby (Kerry Condon). General Dwight D. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser) oversees the decision: whether to launch the invasion or delay it – risking that the Germans will discover the Allies' plans.
