Ojczyzna

Ojczyzna tells the story of the relationship between Nobel Prize-winning author Thomas Mann (Hanns Zischler) and his daughter Erika (Sandra Hüller), an actress and writer. Set during the height of the Cold War, father and daughter embark on an emotionally challenging journey in a black Buick through war-ravaged Germany – from American-controlled Frankfurt to Soviet-influenced Weimar. Mann returns to his homeland for the first time since the war, following his earlier difficult decision to emigrate to the United States.
