A performance inspired by the photographs of Martin Parr, whose works can be found in Tate Modern in London, Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Tourism colors our lives, transports us to unknown places, and creates the illusion of an alternative, better reality. We dream of traveling, take advantage of cheap airlines and easy movement. We love to boast about our trips, spend long moments capturing the best vacation shots for our online albums. We were there, it was wonderful, it was beautiful! Another destination checked off, added to our collection of pleasant experiences. Why remember all the discomforts or even hardships associated with traveling, sightseeing, or paying in local currencies?
