Running has been popular for years - it is one of the simplest ways to improve fitness, without needing specialist equipment or a gym membership. Łódź has several places that runners choose most often.

Park na Zdrowiu

The largest park in Łódź, sometimes called the "Łódź Central Park", is the place most often chosen by runners, mainly because of the length and number of its paths. It is also used by people practising yoga or stretching. The main paths are lit and cleared of snow in winter, making the park a convenient destination all year round.

Park Poniatowskiego

Another park loved by runners, with a very central location. Every Saturday at 9am it hosts a free, weekly parkrun over 5 km (two laps of the park, starting and finishing near the entrance from ul. Inżynierska). The park has also occasionally hosted street races such as Decathlon RUN.

Park na Stokach

A demanding, varied spot for anyone looking for more than flat paths. The park has a stadium with a tartan track, a good choice for runners working on speed and interval training.

Las Łagiewnicki

The largest forest complex within the city, with routes of very different character: from flat and easy ones, good for beginners, to demanding routes with numerous climbs. This means everyone can find a distance and terrain to match their fitness level.

Poligon Brus

The site of a former military training ground in the Złotno district, with varied, uneven terrain and surviving traces of military infrastructure that can be used during training. A roughly 6-kilometre walking and cycling path also runs through Brus, heading towards Retkinia.
