AKH Zgierz

AKH Zgierz is an amateur ice hockey team from Zgierz, also appearing under the name Jeże Zgierz. It is not a sports centre or an object for visiting.

How the team came about

The team was formed around 2010, after many years without ice hockey sections at the Boruta Zgierz and Włókniarz Zgierz clubs. It plays in amateur competitions in the Łódź Voivodeship. In the 2014/2015 season, the Zgierz players won the regular round, and the medal matches were held at the Bombonierka ice rink in Łódź on the Lodowisko Bombonierka.

Where it plays

Matches and training take place at the MOSiR ice rink on ulica Wschodnia 2 in Zgierz, in a multifunctional hall opened in October 2023. Previously, the team used the seasonal municipal ice rink on ulica Leśmiana.
