The former Lutheran cemetery of the Nowosolna colony, dating from around 1802, converted after the war into the Roman Catholic cemetery of the St Andrew Bobola parish.
The Cemetery of Saint Andrew Bobola in Nowosolna is located on Kasprowicza Street, in the Nowosolna district. This is a former Lutheran-Augsburg cemetery of the Nowosolna colony, transformed after World War II into a Roman Catholic cemetery and today run by the local parish under the same dedication.
The cemetery was established probably around 1802 with the founding of the Nowosolna colony, originally as a burial place for the local Lutheran-Augsburg community. After the war, with the establishment in 1947 of the Roman Catholic parish of Saint Andrew Bobola, the cemetery came under the management of the Catholic parish. During this period, older evangelical gravestones were successively removed and replaced with new ones, which is why the oldest surviving gravestone, belonging to Józef Bajsarowicz, dates only from 1949.
The cemetery covers 2 hectares. It is entered in the municipal register of monuments of the city of Łódź, which is a separate list from the heritage register and indicates protection of a different legal nature.
