Municipal Sports and Tourism Centre in Wieruszów

The Municipal Sports and Tourism Centre in Wieruszów, known as GOSiT, is a municipal institution at ul. Sportowa 4 that operates a sports hall, seasonal ice rink and fitness centre, and also organises local sporting and tourism events.

Ten years of operation

The centre is marking a decade of existence. Director Maciej Baciński recalled the early days as difficult: the facility started essentially from nothing, with a limited budget and buildings that required substantial renovation before they could accommodate their first clients.

Seasonal ice rink

In winter, GOSiT operates an ice rink open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, with sessions lasting 60 minutes. The hire facility offers skates, protective helmets and wheeled plush bears, which help young children maintain their balance during their first time on the ice. Skaters also have access to a changing room with a rest area and the option to warm up a drink.

Sports hall and fitness centre

In addition to the ice rink, the centre operates a sports hall and fitness centre, available year-round, regardless of the ice rink season. GOSiT has the full structure of a public institution, with management and its own budget, which distinguishes it from commercial sports clubs in the region.

Sporting events organised by the centre

GOSiT organises its own events, including the RunKayakBike race, which combines running, kayaking and cycling. The event returns in successive editions, supported by grants to the centre.
