Former Post Inn

How the gallery came to be here

The Bureau of Art Exhibitions in Sieradz was established in 1975 as a district cultural institution and initially operated on ulica Zamkowa. Since 1989 the institution has been based in this historic post inn building at Kościuszki 3, where it remains today.

The Bureau of Art Exhibitions runs contemporary art exhibitions and educational activities in the building, along with a sales gallery featuring works from its own collection. It is one of the more important cultural institutions in Sieradz, alongside the Regional Museum in Sieradz.

The area

The inn adjoins Sieradz's market square, where the monument to Antoni Cierplikowski also stands. A few hundred metres away, on ulica Kolegiacka, is the All Saints parish in Sieradz, so a walk through this part of the city naturally connects several historic sites.
