The FuMG-65 Würzburg-Riese radar base is a surviving concrete foundation of a German radio location station from the Second World War, in Piotrków Trybunalski. It is a remnant of a Luftwaffe military installation, today viewed as a trace of the region's technical history.
Würzburg-Riese was a stationary, enlarged version of the German Würzburg radar, with a parabolic antenna approximately seven and a half metres in diameter and a range of around seventy kilometres. It was manufactured by Telefunken from the mid-1930s, and devices of this type were used to direct anti-aircraft artillery and night fighters. Similar installations were built in many places across occupied Europe, typically as part of a set with smaller Freya-type radars.
