Historic water tank from Heerengutbezrik Schieratz

A site on ulica 1 Maja in Sieradz connected to a former German military training ground from the Second World War period. The historic water tank is a remnant of the infrastructure from that complex.

Traces of the military training ground

Ulica 1 Maja and neighbouring streets in this part of Sieradz were built on former concrete strips originally prepared for tanks during the training ground's operation. Along what is now ulica 1 Maja stood a barracks complex supplied with water by a pumping station and several tanks. After the war, most of the training ground's buildings were demolished or filled in.
