A seasonal covered ice rink in Wieluń with skate hire, operating in winter months for recreational skating.
Ice Arena Ice Rink is a seasonal, covered skating rink in Wieluń, run by the private company ICE ARENA Sp. z o.o. It operates in winter on a car park next to the Orlik sports complex on the Wyszyńskiego estate.
The skating rink opened on 15 November 2024 and was the first covered ice rink in the city. It was built where, a few years earlier, the Wieluński Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji (Wieluń Sport and Recreation Centre) had flooded ice. The venture was organised commercially: the WOSiR leased the ice rink installation and generator, whilst the company added the roof, lighting, containers and staffing.
The facility is an ice sheet under cover, with skate hire and container facilities. There is no hall with stands or training facilities in the sense of a year-round facility, so recreational skating is the primary form of use. In the 2025/2026 season, the rink was open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, and children and primary school pupils from the Wieluń municipality had discounts during morning hours.
The ice rink is a winter facility, typically from mid-November. In January 2026, the operator announced on social media that the season would end early due to low attendance, which caused confusion in the city. Two days later, the company withdrew this announcement, and the City Office reminded the public that the contract with WOSiR secured the rink's operation during the school holidays. Ultimately, the rink operated through the winter school holidays in 2026. This history demonstrates why you should confirm whether the facility is open in a given season before visiting. Outside winter, the entry may be marked as temporarily closed, and this is how its status looks in autumn, which for a seasonal ice rink is normal and does not indicate closure. When there is no ice, an indoor swimming pool alternative in Łódź is available at Aquapark Fala.
