An obelisk dedicated to President Ignacy Mościcki, standing by the former hunting lodge in Spała.
Obelisk dedicated to the memory of President Ignacy Mościcki, erected on the avenue bearing his name in Spała, close to the former hunting lodge. It is the second monument in Spała associated with this figure, alongside a nearby boulder.
The hunting lodge in Spała, next to which the obelisk stands, was built in 1884 as a wooden tsarist residence according to a design by engineer Leon Mikucki from Kraków. The building was destroyed during military operations in 1945. President Mościcki spent time in this area during his stays in Spała.
Several hundred metres further along the same avenue stands the second monument to Mościcki—a boulder with the president's words carved into it, closer to Centralny Ośrodek Sportu [Central Sports Centre]. Both memorials commemorate the same person but are located in different places and have different forms.
