Konstantynów Łódzki's main sports complex, with a full-size pitch, a sports hall and an outdoor recreation zone for exercise.
Park Plac Wolności in Konstantynów Łódzki is the city's main sports complex, located at Plac Wolności 60 in the centre. Alongside pitches and a sports hall there is a recreational zone available to residents.
The heart of the complex is an artificial pitch measuring 100 by 60 metres, the size of a full-size football pitch. Nearby are two natural training fields, useful for club matches and training sessions for local teams. The sports hall with a gymnasium can be used regardless of weather, and administrative facilities with changing rooms serve all the complex's amenities.
Adjacent to the main sports facilities is a recreational zone with outdoor exercise equipment. Residents can use such equipment for independent exercise, outside the hours of club activities on the pitches and in the hall.
Konstantynów Łódzki lies on the Ner river. The settlement was established in 1821 on land from the village of Żabice Wielkie as a private industrial settlement; it was given the name Konstantynów in 1824. The city gained municipal rights in 1830, lost them in 1870 and recovered them only in 1924, after more than fifty years without them. It now has approximately 19,200 residents, and the complex at Plac Wolności is one of the main venues for sporting activity in such a small city.
