Roman Catholic Cemetery at the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Origins of the cemetery

The land for the cemetery was designated in 1909, during the time when the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Retkini was being established. Construction of the temporary parish chapel began earlier, in 1907, and the cemetery was created a few years later as a natural complement to the new parish community, which needed its own burial ground.
