Hotel Stare Kino Łódź

Hotel Stare Kino - Cinema Residence at ul. Piotrkowska 120 is the only film-themed hotel in Poland. It is located in a historic townhouse from 1891, designed by Gustav Landau-Gutenteger. The history of the building goes back to 1899, when the Krzeminski brothers established the first permanent cinema in Poland - Gabinet Iluzji [Cabinet of Illusions] - in its courtyard.

History of Gabinet Iluzji

In the courtyard of the building, in the building of today's hotel, brothers Władysław and Antoni Krzeminski established in 1899 the first permanent cinema in Poland called Gabinet Iluzji. This place therefore has significance in the history of world cinema and is the reason for the unique character of today's hotel.

Hotel and its opening

The modern hotel opened in early autumn 2013, initially with 22 film apartments. Today it has 42 apartments, each with a different film theme. The facility is owned by RR Office and is managed under the Stare Kino - Cinema Residence brand.

Interiors inspired by cinematography

Each room is inspired by scenes from films. There are references to Polish films shot in Łódź - Ziemia Obiecana, Stawka Większa Niż Życie and Kingsajz - as well as classics of world cinema: The Godfather, The Pink Panther, Titanic and The Strawberry Statement. The choice of films for each room is part of the manager's strategy to create a unique experience for guests.

Services and halls

The hotel has three conference rooms with areas of 40, 65 and 80 square metres, adapted to business needs. The facility also has a Stare Kino restaurant with capacity for around 50 people, serving meals to hotel guests and visitors from outside.
