About Thermal Water Pump Room in Poddębice and Integration Theatre

The Thermal Water Pump Room in Poddębice is a place where visitors can experience natural mineral waters and learn about the history of balneotherapy. The complex combines health facilities with artistic function – it also houses the Integration Theatre, which emphasises cultural accessibility for all.

The Thermal Water Pump Room in Poddębice is housed in a former evangelical chapel from 1871, located in the municipal park. The building has been adapted into a concert hall and a facility providing access to thermal waters, which are a natural resource of the city.

Historic chapel walls

The chapel, built in 1871, originally served as a parish church. The building represents nineteenth-century architecture and forms part of the cultural landscape of Poddębice. Following its transfer to new functions, the chapel gained a second life as part of the city's thermal and cultural infrastructure.

Thermal waters of Poddębice

Poddębice was known for natural thermal waters, but lacked the technical means to exploit them. Between 2009 and 2010, a deep thermal well was drilled to a depth of 2039 metres. The thermal water drawn from it supplied the Poddębickie Thermal Pools and heating systems in municipal buildings throughout the city. Thermal water became an economic and tourist resource for the local community.

Cultural and social function

The Thermal Water Pump Room serves as a concert hall, enabling residents and tourists to both use the thermal waters and participate in cultural events. The facility fits into the strategy of developing spa tourism in the city.
