About Zagroda Ludowa w Lipcach Reymontowskich
Zagroda Ludowa w Lipcach Reymontowskich is an open-air museum where you can see how rural life looked at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Walking among wooden buildings, you'll discover traditional crafts, historic everyday objects, and the character of the old Polish village.
Zagroda Ludowa is located in Lipcach Reymontowskich, the very place where the renowned writer Władysław Reymont lived and worked. This ethnographic museum presents a traditional village as it was known to the inhabitants of the Łódź region over a hundred years ago. The farmstead features authentic wooden houses, farm buildings, and barns that were brought from surrounding villages or reconstructed based on historical patterns. Walking through the farmstead, you can explore the furnishings of a traditional peasant home — from a kitchen with a large stove, through living quarters, to storage areas and farming tools. The buildings contain exhibits showcasing everyday objects, clothing, household equipment, and rural farm fixtures. For many visitors, it's an opportunity to better understand the lives of their ancestors and local culture.
