A tenement at Piotrkowska 111 from 1889, which housed the editorial and administrative office of the Rozwój magazine in 1899-1904, later a worsted goods warehouse run by Bronisław Bredschneider.
The tenement house at Piotrkowska 111 in Łódź stands on a plot formerly numbered 754. Before Rosenthal, the plot changed owners several times, among them the joiner Jan Kaszyński, and from the late 1860s the Łódź-born Szymon Kuciński, whose family was related to other old Łódź bourgeois families, the Bocheński, Jeżewicz, Lipiński and Gozdowski families. From at least the second half of the 1880s the property belonged to Lejzera Dawida Rosenthala, for whom a two-storey front tenement house was built.
The tenement house was erected according to a design by architect Ignacy Markiewicz from 1889. The building retained the two-storey form typical of Piotrkowska development from this period, when the street was intensively filled with industrial and merchant tenement houses.
In the years 1899–1904 the building housed the editorial office and administration of the magazine "Rozwój". At the beginning of the 20th century the address was also associated with the woollen enterprise of Bronisław (Aaron) Bredschneider, who operated a warehouse of worsted goods here, moved earlier from Piotrkowska 76.
At the beginning of the second decade of the 20th century the property passed into the hands of the married couple Marjem and Abram David Eisner. The house tariff from 1920 still lists them as owners. The further history of the building after this period is not described here, nor its current function.
The tenement house adjoins directly the Łódź City Art Gallery - Re:Medium Gallery, housed in the Alberto Böhme Tenement House at number 113. A dozen or so metres further stands the Mordka Helmana Tenement House, and slightly further the Ferdynand Endek Tenement House at number 108. This is a stretch of the pedestrian mall where tenement houses from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries stand almost side by side.
