A bronze statue of Władysław Reymont sitting on a travel trunk, unveiled in 2001, one of the stops on the Gallery of Great Łódź Residents.
At Piotrkowska 137, in the entrance passage to the former palace, a bronze figure of the writer sits on a travel suitcase. This is one of the first stops on a walk through the Gallery of Great Łódź Residents, next to the Kamienica Karola Eiserta.
The sculpture commemorates Władysław Stanisław Reymont and depicts him with a notebook, sitting on a travel suitcase, as if he had just sat down while passing through the city. The figure is made of bronze and weighs 300 kilograms.
The monument was designed by Robert Sobociński and Marcel Szytenchelm, and was unveiled on 7 September 2001. It is one of the elements of the Gallery of Great Łódź Residents, a series of sculptures along Piotrkowska Street, created from 1999 at Szytenchelm's initiative, financed through sponsorship and his own funds.
The suitcase stands at the entrance to the Pałac Juliusza Kindermanna, built for the Kindermann family in 1907-1909 by the firm Wende and Klause. Earlier on this site, from 1855, Ernest Kindermann ran a manual scarf factory; he was still listed as the property's owner in the 1888 house register.
