In Radomsko, cultural events are effectively concentrated in one place - the Miejski Dom Kultury (Municipal Cultural Centre) on Brzeźnicka Street. This is where both film screenings and touring theatre shows from other cities take place. This page shows what to expect, not the programme for a specific day.
MDK runs two parallel programmes. The first is cinema - a regular programme changing weekly, with dubbed animated films for children and subtitled films for adults. The second is theatre - shows by companies from Warsaw and other cities, dramas featuring well-known actors, romantic comedies, Sunday morning theatre shows for children, and an annual theatre festival devoted to Tadeusz Różewicz.
Families with children get weekend dubbed film screenings and Sunday morning theatre shows. Adults get evening screenings with subtitles and theatre shows featuring well-known names. It's the only place in the city with such a regular, weekly programme, so Radomsko residents don't need to travel to Łódź or Częstochowa for cinema or theatre.
Ticket prices are noticeably lower than in big cities - cinema tickets usually cost between about ten and twenty-something złoty, theatre tickets from a few dozen up to over a hundred złoty for bigger productions. It's always worth checking the current offer before heading out, as the price depends on the specific title and day.
