Łódź has plenty of swimming pools and bathing spots, so there is something both for people after a quiet, small facility and for fans of water parks with slides. Below is an overview of places worth visiting: indoor pools and municipal outdoor bathing areas open during the summer season, in Łódź and the nearby area.
Aquapark Fala
The largest water park in Łódź, good for a full day out with the whole family. It has several pools, including a sports pool with four 25-metre lanes, recreational pools with wave machines, slides (including Kamikaze, the tallest slide in Poland), water playgrounds and a sauna zone (steam and Finnish). In summer an outdoor pool with extra attractions is also open. The water park is located on aleja Unii Lubelskiej, next to Łódź Zoo. Current opening hours (usually 9:00-22:00, with a different schedule for the sauna zone) are worth checking on aquapark.lodz.pl before visiting.

MOSiR Łódź - Pływalnia Wodny Raj
A MOSiR swimming pool in the Teofilów district, on ulica Wiernej Rzeki. Besides the pool, a jacuzzi and sauna are available. In summer an outdoor pool with a beach volleyball area is open, and in winter a seasonal ice rink is sometimes set up. The facility is periodically closed for refurbishment of technical installations, so it's worth checking the current schedule on mosir.lodz.pl before visiting.
Pool at the Ambasador hotel
An indoor pool at the Ambasador hotel in the Chojny district, at ulica Kosynierów Gdyńskich 8, also open to non-guests for an admission fee. Besides the pool there is a jacuzzi, a dry sauna and a steam bath. In summer an outdoor pool (25 by 12 metres) is also open.
Pool at the Andel's hotel
The pool at the Vienna House by Wyndham Andel's Lodz hotel on ulica Ogrodowa, part of the skySPAce wellness area on the top floor of the building, with glass walls and a view over the city skyline. The same area has saunas, a gym and rooms for massage and facial and body beauty treatments. The pool is also open to outside visitors as a day pass, though it's worth booking a slot in advance.

Zatoka Sportu of Łódź University of Technology
The only 50-metre indoor pool in Łódź, open not just to students but to all visitors. It has 10 lanes and a constant depth of 2.5 metres. Next to it is a second, 25-metre pool with an adjustable floor (0 to 5 metres), and diving platforms up to 10 metres. Zatoka Sportu offers swimming and diving courses as well as aquafitness classes. In summer the facility is closed for a short technical break, so it's worth checking the schedule on zatokasportu.pl.
MOSiR Arturówek
A municipal bathing area among ponds in the Łagiewniki forest, on ulica Skrzydlata. The bathing season usually runs from June to mid-September, with a guarded beach, a dock with water sports equipment rental, a playground and an outdoor gym. It's the only bathing spot in Łódź on a natural body of water, a good option for anyone after something different from an indoor pool.
Region: bathing areas outside Łódź
In summer it's also worth heading out of the city. About 15 kilometres from Łódź, in Zgierz, there is the guarded Kąpielisko Malinka, with a body of water and a recreational area. Further away, about 70 kilometres from Łódź, in Smardzewice by the Zalew Sulejowski reservoir, is the only guarded bathing area on this reservoir, with a sandy beach, a beach volleyball court, a playground and a water playground. It's worth checking the current sanitary inspectorate notice before travelling though, as the bathing area can be periodically closed due to cyanobacteria blooms.
