The Zdrowie-Mania district pairs two fairy-tale sculptures from Łódź's animation trail with an active parish cemetery, known to locals by its everyday name, Cmentarz na Mani.

Which sculptures from Łódź's cartoons stand in Zdrowie?

In front of the zoo entrance, at Konstantynowska 8/10, stands the Pomnik Maurycego i Hawranka (Maurycy and Hawranek Monument), a bronze figure of the heroes of the Se-ma-for puppet series from the 1980s, part of the Łódź Bajkowa (Fairy-Tale Łódź) trail. By Aquapark Fala, on Aleja Unii Lubelskiej, you'll find the rzeźba pingwina Pik-Poka (Pik-Pok the Penguin sculpture), a character from an animation by the Se-ma-for film studio, placed by the pool for a reason - in the film, Pik-Pok dreams of travel and riding the waves despite coming from a cold, distant island.

And the cemetery on Mania?

The Cmentarz Rzymskokatolicki pw. św. Antoniego (Roman Catholic Cemetery of St Anthony) on Solec, founded in 1914, covers almost 11 hectares divided into 34 sections and holds a section for soldiers of the September 1939 campaign. It's still an active parish cemetery, run by the Archdiocese of Łódź, known to locals as Cmentarz na Mani, after the old name for this part of Polesie, which borders Park na Zdrowiu and a remnant of the area's old forest.

More monuments and cemeteries from across the region are on the cemeteries and monuments in the Łódź region page, and the full list of the district's attractions is on the attractions in Łódź page.
