Over 70 places in the eastern part of Łódź. This is where you'll find Księży Młyn (Priest's Mill), the best-preserved factory settlement in Poland, and EC1, a former power plant turned science centre and planetarium. On top of that, five theatre stages and six museums.
Six places in the catalogue lie within Księży Młyn: Pałac Karola Scheiblera (Karol Scheibler's Palace) at pl. Lecha Kaczyńskiego 1 with the Muzeum Kinematografii (Museum of Cinematography) at pl. Zwycięstwa 1, Muzeum Pałac Herbsta (Herbst Palace Museum) at Przędzalniana 72, and the settlement itself with its workers' houses at Księży Młyn 11a. Visiting takes half a day and everything is within walking distance. Muzeum Pałac Herbsta offers free admission on Fridays.
The most places, 30, are in the Stary Widzew estate along al. Piłsudskiego and Targowa street. EC1 at Targowa 1/3 is a science and technology centre with a planetarium, standard tickets from 25 PLN on weekdays. Nearby stand Pałac Oskara Kona (Oskar Kon's Palace) (Targowa 61) and Beczki Grohmana (Grohman's Barrels) on Targowa 65, the distinctive gate of a former spinning mill. On the film side, the district is represented by the Se-ma-for Muzeum Animacji (Se-ma-for Animation Museum) at al. Piłsudskiego 135, and on the book side by the Muzeum Książki Artystycznej (Museum of Artistic Bookmaking) at Tymienieckiego 24. The Palmiarnia Ogrodu Botanicznego (Botanical Garden Palm House) at Piłsudskiego 61 is open all year round.
Several places in the district fall under the "for kids" category: Papugarnia Papupapi (Papupapi Parrot House) at Piłsudskiego 158a (standard ticket 19 PLN, free for children under three), the play centres SALTOS at Wydawnicza 5, Szymonek Ancymonek in Zarzew and Kajtek in Olechów. Outdoors there's the Skatepark Widzew on Przybyszewskiego street and the Stawy nad rzeką Jasień (Ponds on the Jasień river) on Przędzalniana street. You can swim at the Basen MOSiR Anilana (MOSiR Anilana Pool) at Sobolowa 1.
Widzewskie Domy Kultury runs Dom Kultury Widok (Widok Cultural Centre) (al. Piłsudskiego 133) and Dom Kultury Ariadna (Ariadna Cultural Centre) (Niciarniana 1/3), while in Widzew Wschód you'll find Dom Kultury 502 (Cultural Centre 502) at Sacharowa 18 and Studio Teatralne Słup (Słup Theatre Studio) at Gorkiego 18. Separately, there's Teatr Zamiast (Instead Theatre) at Piłsudskiego 135.

What can you see in Widzew in half a day? Księży Młyn with the Museum of Cinematography and Herbst Palace, then a walk along Przędzalniana towards Targowa and EC1.
